Guide

Ash, is an exclusively point control champion with this build, and she does that very well. She is very much the opposite of Inara where instead of trapping and zoning your opponents, your goal is to keep them away from point and your team for as long as possible. To achieve this you will be using your Kinetic Burst as often as you can, to protect your back-line and capture point. To help with this you will have a really big shield. Its big, its strong, and it lasts for a long time but as a result of that, you need to be tactical with its use as you will be painfully aware of its cooldown if it is timed or placed incorrectly.

The Shoulder Bash is mostly an engage/finisher with this build. It needs to be channeled and you receive no CC immunity or damage reduction making it lackluster as an escape. It can also be used to knock people off of edges on maps but for the most part, the Kinetic Burst is preferable, as that reduces the chance of your target dashing away, receiving CC immunity, or having a friendly Jenos lift them out of your path. Yes, the Shoulder Bash is more powerful, has greater range, and has greater knockback but it is more of a commitment and any unexpected collision between you and your intended target could leave you horribly out of position.

You might not buy a defensive item if you play with this build. Ash has the highest base health in the game and combined with Indomitable III will give you good staying power from the beginning of the game. Most likely only happening in the situation where you are getting bullied on point or your healer is getting hard focused or as a last ditch attempt to survive overwhelming damage.

For your utility item, I would recommend Chronos, or perhaps Morale Boost. This is a late game investment to try to either get some more staying power in the end with your shield or more (hopefully) game-changing ultimates. It is not a high priority buy and will likely be the last item you build.

For your healing item, you will want to take Rejuvenate, as your support should be healing you fairly regularly, though if you find yourself in need of more healing and enemy Cauterize isn't the issue then you should invest in Kill-to-Heal. No, you don't do much damage but you should be getting a of damage on everyone, as you do splash damage. This is likely your second purchase.

For your damage item, it comes down to who you are facing. I will recommend getting Cauterize if you are facing any tank besides a Barik, Inara, or Terminus. If they have a Barik, Inara, Grohk, or possibly even a Ying it is advisable to get Bulldozer to ruin their deployables. If there are two or more from the previous list then Bulldozer will give you excellent value.
