Guide
This deck is an all-around Zhin Loadout. It has cards to make all his abilities stronger, but it is mostly focused on Whirl, as it is a great ability. Zhin is a very easy character to pick up, but he is difficult to master. It takes an intimate knowledge of his abilities to use him to his full potential.
Legendary card: Yomi
- This deck works best with Yomi. Yomi is a great talent for just doing more damage. The increased range and piercing allows Zhin to function both a flanker and a backline DPS character. Yomi works best against heavily grouped up teams.
Cards:
- Blade Dance II: A longer travel distance for whirl allows you to close larger distances. Good in a pinch.
- Fan the Flames II: Great card when paired with nimble. It allows you to get kills and retreat easily. That being said, level two is the highest I can comfortably put it. Any higher would be a waste of points.
- Footwork III: An odd card choice, but pairs very well with Billow. After using the counter, the speed boost gains transfer to Billow, allowing you to get Up in Smoke III without actually using the card.
- Hideout IV: Obvious card choice. Reducing the cooldown of Whirl after using Billow allows you to retreat more easily.
- Wildfire IV: 2-second cooldown reduction per enemy hit. Hitting two people with Whirl decreases the cooldown to 3 seconds.
Items
- Illuminate: Only buy if fighting against Strix or Skye.
- Resilience: Buy when facing a CC heavy team.
- Blast Shields: Just as good as Haven. Viable substitute if the enemy team has a lot of AoE.
- Haven: Best defense item. Use if fighting a direct damage-heavy team.
- Master Riding: Very underrated. Great for quickly flanking around the backlines.
- Morale Boost: Only good when using Guillotine.
- Nimble: Must have item. Faster movement speed offsets his slow walking speed. It allows you to dodge enemy bullets more easily. Good for retreating.
- Chronos: Great item. It allows you to use his talents more often. DO NOT BUY FIRST. Always buy nimble or cauterize first. Should be bought after the essentials are upgraded.
- Kill to Heal: Must buy. It allows him to survive longer after a fight.
- Life Rip: Do not buy. His DPS isn't nearly high enough to get any use out of it.
- Rejuvenate: Great when paired with a dedicated healer.
- Veteran: pretty good for Zhin. Works even while he is using Billow.
- Bulldozer: Do not buy
- Deft Hands: Do not buy
- Wrecker: Situational, but viable.
- Cauterize: Must buy.
Abilities:
- Inferno Blade: Deals good damage, but the heavy hit is the only one suited for long-range. Zhin's shots are slow but massive. Aim where they are going, not where they are.
- Counter: Deals good damage, but a good player will most likely not shoot you. Save it for surprise attacks to finish off opponents. Also good for stopping certain ultimates.
- Billow: Only use to retreat.
- Whirl: Good for retreating and securing kills.
Ultimate
- Spite: ONLY USE HIS ULTIMATE IN A 1V1. NEVER USE IT AGAINST MORE THAN ONE PERSON. YOU ARE NOT INVINCIBLE.
- Another use of his ultimate is as a movement ability. It goes a long distance.
- Also never use it against a tank. Save it for Damage or supports.
Tips and Tricks: (Zhin has quite a few of these)
- Jumping before using Whirl makes you go farther. The same goes for using it after jumping next to a wall.
- Use counter immediately after the heavy hit to trip up your opponent.
- Using your ultimate in the air and using whirl afterwards makes you go much farther.
