Slide can close the distance to any target including sliding straight into snipers.
Each shot you hot lowers you slide cool down by 0.6 seconds 5 shots and its back up so you can slide in, kill slide out.
The slide is log enough that you can start a reload and slide and be almost finished when you finish the slide.
You can do some pretty crazy things with this like sliding into point unloading on a healer and sliding right on by them into the backfield.
